In the mining industry, cemented carbide is the core component.

Stone cutting tools are used on all machinery for digging rocks work thanks to tungsten carbide. Tunnels are perforated by cutting tool drills made of tungsten carbide, for example the excavation of the Channel Tunnel between France and England.

This large projects as tunnel drilling or mining to be successfully and economically, reliable carbide tools are decisive: they have long tool life, they provide high hardness and corrosion resistance, high toughness as well as compressive strength.

The experience gained over the years in mining and stone processing enabled us to develop specific carbide grades for stone cutting tools that allow us to easily undertake different types of processing: (rotation, percussion, roto-percussion, abrasion, etc.) on different types of rock and soil: (sandstone, concrete, tuff, quartzite, porphyry, lava stone, marble, etc.).

For all applications we offer a wide range of shapes on customer drawings for their machines, as well as a large selection of tungsten carbide grades customised for stone and geological conditions. Grade variants in grain size and composition as well as in special additives.

We produce every type of widia plate both for brazing and for mechanical fixing, such as:

  • prisms for probe crowns
  • buttons and plates for drilling tools
  • widia inserts for chainsaws
  • circular saw teeth
  • drawing parts, etc.
